I, the writer, is at the new location (a farmland) of the YWAM Tumaluntung base as I blog.  And I am amazed at how much it improved in less than 2 months since I last visited this place.  Praise God that there are already 4 houses that are up and are being used by our DTS 10.  Although much improvement and more construction still need to be done, we are seeing our base expanding.  To all who are praying and standing with us, to all who are giving towards this ministry, terima kasih banyak (thank you very much)!  May the Lord return it to you and bless you even more!

We are excited and have much to look forward to this 2012, but we as a base would like to recall the blessings that He has granted us in 2011.

Being a training base, we were able to once again see 2 DTSes (January and July) prepared and sent off on outreach to villages in North Sulawesi.

Three of our staff were sent to Singapore in June to train on how to run  children’s camp, which they right away applied by facilitating our own camp with the theme: “David’s Generation”. 20 boys and girls participated in the one-week event, and we praise God that most of them gave their hearts to Jesus and renewed their relationship with Him!

Likewise in 2011 we rejoice to witness two staff weddings. DTS School Leader Naomi tied the knot with Johnny  last October.  And Training Director Jules said his “I dos” with Rachel, from the Philippines, in December.  Rache has joined us here and is now working in the area of communication and training.

We also praise God for the educational opportunity that Base Leaders Franky and Ai-ling’s daughters have been given.  RG is currently taking her Nursing degree in Florida, USA; while younger sister Keziah Is a Medical student in a prestigious school in Jakarta.  Like their parents, these young women have big hearts for missions and are planning to serve in the field after getting their degrees.

Indeed we have a lot to be thankful for as we have been blessed by the Lord the previous year.   This New Year we are even more expectant and excited with what the Lord will do in and through us.

We kicked off 2012 with DTS 10 under the leadership of Mary, and we look forward to pioneering our new school in July – the Performing Arts International DTS (PA-IDTS).   We have a team from the Netherlands currently working with us for a few weeks and we are eager to welcome another foreign staff who will be joining in April.

All these are wonderful but we have not and cannot do it alone.  It is with the Lord’s help and your prayers and partnership, that we are expanding. Thank you very much for standing with us and believing in the call!  We give God all the glory He rightfully deserves!
