What is YWAM Tumaluntung?
_ Our vision is
to have a Marine Reach ship (to do the ministries by boat in order to reach people living on
the islands) - the reason for that is because we are surrounded by many islands
especially in this region of East Indonesia. Likewise, there are a lot of
unreached and untouched people groups in our region.
We also envision to have a go-center or a training center where we can train people, preparing them to serve in the mission field.

What is YWAM?Youth With A Mission is an international volunteer movement of Christians from many backgrounds, cultures and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced "WHY-wham"), our purpose is simply to know God and to make Him known.
When YWAM began in 1960, our main focus was giving young people opportunities to demonstrate the love of Jesus to the whole world, according to His command in Mark 16:15. Today, we still focus on youth, but we have members (known as “YWAMers”) of almost every age and many of our short-term efforts have grown into long-term endeavors that have impacted lives and nations. YWAM has a decentralized structure that encourages new vision and the exploration of new ways to change lives through training, convey the message of the gospel and care for those in need. We are currently operating in more than 1000 locations in over 180 countries, with a staff of over 18,000 Our 3 Fold Ministry: Training and Discipleship Training and discipleship aim to better equip Christians to serve others in everything from agriculture to health care, to drug rehabilitation and biblical counseling. Through YWAM’s University of the Nation (U of N), missionaries can study in specialized areas such as science and technology, linguistics, the humanities and Christian ministry. Most YWAM schools combine classroom teaching with relationship-centered discipleship and practical service. Evangelism Some creative tools used to present the gospel include drama, music, performing arts and sports camps. YWAMers want to share their faith effectively in ways that the audience – whether teenagers, elderly refugees, or an unreached people group will understand. YWAM also engages in church planting among unreached people groups Mercy Mercy ministry is the “hands and feet” of making God known. YWAM helps meet some of the practical and physical needs of about 400,000 people annually. Caring for street children in South America ; aiding in the recovery of drug addicts in North America and Western Europe; feeding and housing refugees and women in need in Africa and Asia, and operating ships that declare the good news practically and verbally, are just some of the ways in which helping hands are extended. |
Who We Are:
Who is YWAM? We are aged between 1 and 100. We live in over 180 nations and we like to work with friends in multi-cultural teams, celebrating the diversity of our different experiences, languages, and perspectives. We come from many different Christian traditions and we love to get together and worship God using our different expressions. We are all committed to growing in our understanding of who Jesus is and how He wants us to love and serve the people of the world. We are very enthusiastic about new ideas. We travel a lot. We are moved by people in need, and we do something about it. We don’t mind roughing it. We believe that God wants to have a living relationship with every one of us and we want to explore that deeply. We’re not in it for the money. We have discovered that faith in Jesus will take you to places you never dreamed of, to do things you never imagined, in ways you would never believe. We are Youth With A Mission. |
